Ever watched a flock of Minah birds attack a potential thief? They do it in a pack, because of their size and apart from scaring the attacker with their loud shrieks; they do not fear biting at it, in the hope of saving their nest. Why then, with the mental and spiritual strength we have, as leaders in this race of survival, do we fail to unleash our power within? Ever watched a group of toddlers in a playpen? Notice the next time you do, how the confident child automatically becomes the leader. He does not have to do so with force, but the other children sense his ability to take care of his own needs, so assume naturally, that he will be able to do so for them too. We often turn to self help gurus or the like, anything we feel is more confident, powerful, self-assured, learned etc, than we are, in the hope that we will learn from these self-actualized beings. Why is there a need to do this? Why do we back away from what we know to be true, we do not see the lights that shine within us and unleash this power? Contemplate your reasons for smothering the light you were born with, the power you were born to unleash, this day and in the days that follow. If your reasons are nothing but trivial excuses, take a look around you. We are all born great. We just lose our ability to see it. Take charge of this day. It belongs to you.

This is the powerful story of the author's struggle with Multiple Sclerosis and how a healer's unusual prescription of mindful altruism - to 'give away 29 gifts in 29 days' - ignited her energy, her happiness, and invited more abundance into her life.
