A helpline for gardeners and homeowners who want to protect their garden wildlife and control pests in an environmentally responsible way has been launched by the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) and Kirchhoffs. The helpline number is 072 952 2552 and will be run by the Wildlife Conflict Prevention Group (WCPG), which is part of EWT, during office hours. The helpline is sponsored by Kirchhoffs. It has also distributed brochures to garden centres giving tips on environmentally healthy ways to garden and the benefits of gardening for nature. Kirchhoffs produces a large range of environmentally friendly garden care products, such as the Margaret Roberts range which includes an organic insect spray, biological caterpillar insecticide and fungicide as well as the Ecocert approved Ludwig’s Insect Spray Plus. “Kirchhoffs gardening philosophy is to do no harm and to view gardening as a holistic balance between creating an ideal environment for ourselves and loved ones as well as for the beneficial insects and animals that are welcome in our gardens,” says Marlaen Straathof, CEO of Kirchhoffs. “Although not all of our sprays are organic, they are all environmentally responsible, which gives us an immediate synergy with the aims of the EWT.” |
