Author: Amanda Cross![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I never used to be a big soup fan but then I discovered how heart warming a freshly made vegetable broth could be on a cold winter's night, I also noticed that my immune system seemed to be stronger and I found that if I did get a cold I recovered from it far quicker. One of the problems though, after discovering any favourite recipe, is that taste bud boredom can start to set in and so Miracle Soups was a big help in my kitchen. After a brief introduction the book moves swiftly into a section that is almost like a pre-appendix. It covers; the healthy properties of soups, essential soup-making equipment, nutritional benefits of common foods found in soups and finally an ailment chart that details which of the soups in the book are suitable for combating various health problems. The recipes themselves are divided into sections according to their various health benefits, these are; souper boosters (immune boosting soups), high energy, stress busting and brain boosters, resouperation (designed for building yourself up again after a period of illness), winter warmers, detox and weight loss. All of the recipes are easy to follow and the majority include a highly appetising picture. I'm yet to try all of the recipes in the book, and I have to admit that they don't all appeal to me, but the ones that I have were easy to make and seemed to help my body in the way that was promised. If you're looking for a natural way to combat illness then I'd highly recommend this book. |
