The Illustrated Encyclopedia covers; The ancient roots of divination, its culture, myths and mysteries Seers, prophets, shamans and mediums, ancient and modern Reading the symbolic meaning of signs and omens Working with the great "books of fate": the I Ching, the Cabala How to interpret Tarot, Runes and Geomancy How divination works and how it can connect you to your inner self or guide Divination and its association with spiritual practices I've enjoyed reading this very comprehensive book, and although at times it didn't cover topics that interested me in as much detail as I would have liked I have still found it a useful introductory guide to many of the divinatory arts that have intrigued me. I particularly enjoyed the historical background to each of the many divinatory topics covered. I've always been a sucker for historical facts and information, this book certainly satisfied this craving.
