 Creator: Dr. Bernie Siegel   On this CD program, to be used as you start and finish your day, Dr. Bernie Siegel guides you through two individual and empowering meditations, each a combination of guided imagery and auto-hypnosis. These inspiring inner journeys are designed to assist you in dealing with negative thoughts, past hurts, stress, grief, and other conditions that can contribute to your lack of well-being. Having a very active mind I often find some meditations hard to do but Dr.Seigel's guided meditation, involving lots of imagery, was perfect for me, keeping me focused and stopping for my mind wandering. Both of the meditations on the CD are focused around finding your own special place in the Universal and through the meditation the listener is encouraged to create a mental picture of what it looks, feels, sounds and smells like. During the morning meditation the love of found in this special place is harnessed to make the day ahead full of strength and joy. Whilst the evening meditation takes you back there, which promotes healing and peaceful sleep. I found them both to be very relaxing and empowering. I was slightly worried when I first played the CD as I sometimes the narrator has some irritating voice hardly appropriate for the genre. In this CD I was delighted with Dr. Siegel's voice which I found to be calm and resonant and not all distracting from the meaning and message behind the words. I only have one small criticism of this CD - there's only one track! It seems these two meditations were originally available on cassette and that have been recently converted to CD and so we have just one track for both meditations and no way to skip between them, a little frustrating and a problem that should've been solved before its release. Still, this is a small complaint for an otherwise excellent CD. |
