There are however times when it all goes horribly wrong, this is one of those occasions. There are many problems when trying to record a 'live' event like this, problems that with a little more forethought and effort in post production I believe can be tackled. Unfortunately in this collection they are not. All my grievances follow; 1. The sound quality - although there is an apology at the beginning for the fluctuations in sound quality, it still doesn't excuse the often dramatic changes in the dynamics (I often found myself lunging for the volume controls). 2. Being a seminar with an audience Caroline Myss frequently refers to some visuals aids that we obviously can't see. I found this very frustrating especially when she would ask her audience to pick an archetype - I didn't have clue what my choices were! Would it really have been that much more expensive for the publishers to include some notes and images with the set? 3. She also uses audience participation to some degree and unfortunately we can't hear their responses and hence don't really know what she is talking about after this. My last frustration, which probably has more to do with my own lack of concentration and hectic lifestyle, is that it was hard to find enough time to sit and listen, and very crucially, concentrate for the 4 hour duration of the seminar. After the failed attempts sitting at my desk with headphones on, or in the lounge in a comfortable chair, I ended up listening to it in the car to and from work. Although not perfect at least I did find enough time by myself to try and absorb Caroline's wise words. All this being said I did find some of her thoughts very interesting and at times did really enjoy what she was saying, so much so in fact that I kept on quoting her to my wife. "Caroline says..." became my favourite phrase for a couple of weeks. If you're a fan of Caroline Myss's work on the archetypes and have read any of her stuff before I'd imagine you'll really enjoy hearing her insights 'first hand' as it were. If however you're new to her philosophies like I am I expect you'll be a bit lost whilst listening and find it hard to get through all the CD's. |

This is the powerful story of the author's struggle with Multiple Sclerosis and how a healer's unusual prescription of mindful altruism - to 'give away 29 gifts in 29 days' - ignited her energy, her happiness, and invited more abundance into her life.
