Creator: Stephen Karcher![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is a great kit for people interested in trying for themselves the divinatory art of The I Ching. Coins and 'yarrow' sticks, a key with explanations of the hexagrams and an easy to follow set of instructions are included in this beautifully put together package. With little effort you'll soon be exploring and enjoying the mysteries of this 3,000 year old Chinese craft. The I Ching is an ancient Chinese oracle contained in the pages of a book (included in this kit). It reveals the key to understanding the 64 Shapes of Change that divining with the coins or yarrow sticks generate. Rather than describing or predicting change the I Ching is instead an attempt to understand and work with it. Its images and practical advice let you participate in change instead of being its victim. As the author says - "It acts like a wise old friend or helping spirit." According the packaging you can use this kit to; make clearer and more informed decisions, develop your intuition and discover hidden abilities, plan effective strategies to deal with problems, recognise and resolve anxieties, fears and desires. Although at first the 184 page book is rather daunting a quick browse through reveals that over two thirds of it describes each of the Shapes of Change, the rest is dedicated to The I Ching's history and how to use it. The whole book is clearly put together with good examples, it is also relatively easy to extract the divinatory meanings from each of the Shapes and to interpret how they relate to the question you asked. It is possible to use this kit to dip into this divinatory art in order to get a quick 'reading' - I tried this out a couple of times and found the results to be rather telling and in a way comforting. I think it's important though to spend more time thoroughly studying the book and be more ritualistic in the process to really gain an insight into this ancient mystery, I certainly intend to do this. |

This is the powerful story of the author's struggle with Multiple Sclerosis and how a healer's unusual prescription of mindful altruism - to 'give away 29 gifts in 29 days' - ignited her energy, her happiness, and invited more abundance into her life.
