The winners get their answers and the losers get some answers too, as Muqita covers some of the issues raised by our many querents. However, there's a limit to the type of answers that are available in this branch of astrology. The more specific the question, the better. What not to ask "Where do you see my life going" and "what does 2006 hold for me" are examples of questions that are too broad for horary. The answers are more readily available in the astrological birth chart. A competent astrologer would be able to cover psychological factors and reasons for why you might be indecisive, depressed, unlucky in love or have an unhappy family life. Unlike horary, this type of reading requires your birth date, birth place and birth time. And here's another thing Not every astrologer knows how to glean the answer to "what is my true purpose in life" from the birth chart, because this involves interpreting mathematical points known as Arabian Parts. This is a time consuming practice that fell into disuse centuries ago, despite the fact that nowadays we might profit from such a reading. Back to horary Horary does not require birth data. This is helpful to those who are unsure of their birth time. Even if the horary astrologer receives a question from Los Angeles by email, accuracy is not lost. The chart is drawn for the exact minute that the astrologer receives and understands the question. Some of its uses Horary astrologers practising overseas are often employed by the police to help locate missing persons, stolen items and criminals. Unfortunately, it is of no help to those wishing to win a lottery, but it has been successful in identifying the winners of sporting contests and the ups and downs of financial commodities. Don't confuse sun signs with the real thing The sun-sign astrology columns that appear in newspapers and magazines are a poor representation of astrology's accuracy and capabilities. These columns are mostly for entertainment and their generalised content should be taken lightly. The meaning of life Since astrology deals with the Lesser Mysteries, we must look to a spiritual or mystical source for guidance on general questions such as, "what is the meaning of life". To this end, our travelling mystic Steven Henson has agreed to address the matter in a forthcoming article. Now for the winners All at Harmonious Living agree that because so many excellent questions were entered in the competition, the selection process was the toughest ever. Here are the results:
Additional Comments Is my nephew Sean happy where he is now? N. Roll You and Sean share a great affection for each other. This chart shows he will soon be happy or that relief is imminent. There is more information, but without speaking to you first, the astrologer risks making a number of wild assumptions that might lack tact. How long will I live? D. Thirumalai The chart suggests that death is a strong preoccupation for you for reasons best not illuminated here. If you know that you haven't long to go, you should contact Harmonious Living and request free and proper analysis of this horary without delay. The only time this question is valid is if you're terminally ill and wish to make arrangements. Otherwise, it's best not to know. Think only of the harm that such knowledge could have on you, especially if the astrologer gets it wrong. No astrologer, no matter how brilliant, is infallible. Down through the ages, even the best astrologers made mistakes. Although ignorance is bliss when you're a perfectly healthy specimen, it's possible to arrive at a rough estimate of the month and year of death from the birth chart. Your exact birth time would be essential and your birth chart would then have to be cross-referenced for confirmation with your *progressed charts, your +solar returns and the horary. Not only would this involve an enormous amount of work, but there are also other obvious reasons why few astrologers feel up to the task. *Progressed charts A birth chart is progressed according to how old you are. In other words, if you were born a Leo in 1976, for example, by now your sign is already close to progressing out of Virgo and into Libra. All the planets progress and their movements can bring new eras with new meanings to bear every couple of months or so. These should be overlaid with the solar returns and your birth chart to locate a future event. +Solar Returns On your birthday, the sun returns to the same position it held at your birth. A new chart is drawn up for the exact moment this occurs for your current year. This provides information on how your particular new year will unfold.
